It is amazing to think that just 12 years ago, in 1995, Fulham was on the brink of relegation to non-league football. The ex-division one club even lost to the then bottom club Torquay United. You wouldn't have found one Cottager who would have believed that 10 years later Fulham would gain promotion to the Premiership.
Mohamed Al-Fayed was responsible for the turnaround, purchasing Fulham in 1997. Manager Jean Tigana came in as the successor to Kevin Keegan, and was the one to complete this amazing comeback.
Last season was a hard one for Fulham, but after spending most of the season in the relegation zone, veteran Roy Hodgson managed to pull out an amazing stunt and secured Fulham's future in the top tier of English football. Still, after celebrating their survival, Hodgeson knows he has to make some changed to avoid similar eceprience this season.
So far he revolutionized his squad, adding no less than 7 players while releasing 11. This should surprise no one, as results proved las season's Fulham was not strong enough. If his inspirations to bring in the prolific Andy Johnson, Fulham just might enjoy a comfortable season in mid-table.

Bottom Line: Fulham looked certain for relegation, but miraculously managed to escape. They will be more than happy with the calmness of mid-table.
