Bordeaux qualified to the Groups Stage automatically by finishing 2nd in their local league last season. This was the first time in a couple of years that a local team managed to challenge Olympique Lyonnais for the title, and the reward is just. Since they are not as good as Chelsea, Bordeaux’s will have to fight Roma for the 2nd place, which will take them to the next round.
Bottom Line: No big successes were filed in any their previous Champions League campaigns. Getting to the next stage would be a huge step forward.
